Reijukai
(Reiju Meetings)
Reijukai – Jikiden Reiki® Reiju Meetings
Since the time of Usui Sensei and Hayashi Sensei, Reiki practitioners have received ongoing support from their teachers after completing their initial training. This tradition is preserved within the Jikiden Reiki community.
Reijukai are workshop-style practice meetings for those who wish to receive Reiju, refresh their understanding, and deepen their practical experience of Reiki within a supportive group setting. They offer a valuable opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and practise Reiki together.
These gatherings are also a gentle and enjoyable way to connect with other practitioners — relaxed and friendly, yet always respectful of the traditional approach. For some, Reijukai also form part of their ongoing preparation towards becoming an assistant teacher.
What Is Reijukai?
Reijukai are an important part of Jikiden Reiki practice. They provide an opportunity for practitioners to:
Receive Reiju
Practise giving and receiving Reiki
Refine sensitivity through hands-on experience
Ask questions and learn through shared practice
Stay connected to the lineage and wider Reiki community
Reijukai are not training courses and do not introduce new techniques. Instead, they support continuity, confidence, and clarity in your existing Reiki practice.
Who Is Reijukai For?
-
Those who have completed at least Shoden
Jikiden Reiki practitioners who wish to maintain regular practice
-
Feel a little isolated in your practice
Would like to practise Reiki more regularly
Wish to receive Reiju again
Enjoy learning through shared experience with others
There is no expectation to attend every meeting — you are very welcome to join whenever it feels right for you.
How Reijukai Are Held by Rika
Reijukai are usually held as half-day meetings (10:00am – 2:30pm) and typically include:
Receiving Reiju
Revisiting part of the training
Time for questions and discussion
Group practice sessions including Ketsueki Kokan Ho
The atmosphere is calm, respectful, and supportive. There is no pressure to perform or to “know more” — the emphasis is simply on practice and presence.
Reijukai with Rika
I offer monthly Reijukai for Jikiden Reiki practitioners. These meetings are held in a small group and guided with care and attentiveness, drawing on many years of full-time practice and teaching within the Jikiden Reiki tradition, as recognised by the Jikiden Reiki Institute.
My intention is to provide a safe and welcoming space where practitioners can practise with confidence, receive support, feel a sense of hospitality, and stay connected to the essence of Reiki as it has been passed down in Japan. A light, homemade lunch is provided during the break.
If you are unsure whether Reijukai is suitable for you, please feel free to get in touch.
